Environmental Benefits
A huge reduction in our CO2 (Carbon Dioxide) emissions is needed in our global battle against climate change. Every unit of energy produced by the wind displaces a unit of energy from traditional power stations which leads to a reduction in the emission of carbon dioxide and other gaseous emissions.
The typical time frame it would take for a wind farm of this size to payback the energy used in its construction is circa 9-10 months*. This accounts for all the energy used in the quarrying of raw materials, manufacture and transportation of turbine components as well as the construction phase.
Wind farms are built to last 20-25 years, after which point they will be decommissioned. Care and consideration are taken to ensure the land is reinstated to its former landscape.
Community Benefits
We believe that it is important that the local community benefits from a wind farm development in various ways.
In addition to the environmental benefits, there are also clear economic benefits to the host community.
We will always seek local expertise to carry out work associated with constructing the wind farm in an effort to provide jobs thus boosting the local economy.
We will be looking for a variety of skills from construction experts to project management consultants, to name but a few. If you believe you or your company would be able to assist then please don't hesitate to contact us.
Wind energy projects typically provide for a community fund to be spent in the local area. This could be spent on energy efficiency measures in local homes and businesses, or on any other worthwhile community project. We would like your suggestions on what you think would be a worthwhile community benefit project. If you have any ideas then please contact us.
